As a believer and follower of Christ the most important thing to us is our relationship with God. In this blog let’s dive into 3 ways to grown your relationship with God.
There is an importance in being intentional in your seeking of knowing God deeper.
With God growth is never ending.
In order to keep our relationship strong and pure with God there are things we continually must do.
Let’s dive in to 3 ways I believe we can grow and deepen our relationship with God.
1. PRAYING
Prayer is one of the most powerful WEAPONS God has given us. It is our direct form of communication with our father.
Verses About Praying
PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
1 JOHN 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
MATTHEW 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you
The Power of Prayer
- Prayer gets you closer to your creator
- Prayer is a weapon in the spirit
- Prayer Breaks off Bondages
- Prayer Opens new Doors
- Prayer increases Faith
- Prayers are answers our questions
- Prayer Heals
Never under estimate the power of prayer, sometimes we focus so much on the physical and have no idea what our actions cause in the spirit.
Prayer will literally knock doors down in the spirit, it will win battles against spiritual giants.
It brings healing over a weary spirit and an aching heart.
It teaches us that we are not meant to carry things alone.
Use prayer as it was intended and watch your life transform.
2. READ THE WORD
Reading our bible is another very important thing in our walk.
I remember struggling to focus on the bible when trying to read it in the beginning of my walk.
I did not have much interest in reading, and unfortunately coming from the world we may think it’s boring reading about things that happen so long ago.
Oh how mistaken I was, at first I began reading it out of obedience.
Intentionally seeking God. Little did I know that not long after the words in the bible would begin to speak to me.
Verses About Reading the Bible
Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.
Isaiah 40:8 Grass dries up, and flowers wither, but our God’s word will last forever.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The Power of Reading the Bible
- Reading your Bible edifies you as a whole
- The Bible is a daily guide to live as a true child of God
- The Word is a weapon
- Reading your bible leads to discovering and understanding your Identity
- God Reveals who he is to us through his word
Read those bible verses again! Absolutely powerful.
Those few verses in itself speak volumes about the power the bible holds.
It speaks for itself that the bible will remain relevant for eternity.
Whether you’re reading the book of Esther in the bible that takes place in the past.
Or you read the book proverbs that is packed with wisdom.
There will always be so much to gain and the bible will come to life for you right where you are.
3. Fasting
Last but not least let’s talk about Fasting.
Fasting is absolutely not an easy thing to do and definitely not pleasing to our flesh.
That’s why it is so powerful.
When we fast we are going against everything our flesh really wants to do.
It is a way to disconnect from the world and grow closer to God in the Spirit.
Fasting takes us to a place of complete humility to break spiritual barriers.
SAIAH 58:6 No, this is the kind of fasting I want: Free those who are wrongly imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go free, and remove the chains that bind people.
Matthew 6:17-18 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Daniel 10:3 I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.
The Power of Fasting
- Fasting is having intimacy with God
- Fasting allows the spirit to lead above the Flesh
- Fasting brings Deliverance
- Fasting breaks bondages
Fasting is an act of obedience. A weapon in the Spirit.
All three are equally important and powerful.
They lead us deeper and closer in our relationship with God.
When you mix all three, Read your word, fast and pray you will literally be a spiritual powerhouse for the kingdom of the almighty.
The Kings of Kings The Lord of Lords
I pray this Blog blesses you!
