Blessings brothers and sisters lets dive into the following gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Knowledge and Wisdom.
A spiritual gift is given to each of us so that we can help each other.
1 Corinthians 12:4-8 4 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. 5 There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. 6 God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 8 To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. Chances are that whether someone is a believer of Christ or not they have heard of knowledge and wisdom. However we must first understand that the gifts of knowledge and wisdom are completely different.
Word of Knowledge
- Divine revelation of Gods plans or secrets in our lives.
- Insight or understanding of circumstances in our life’s solely from the Holy Spirit.
- A deeper and more advanced understanding on the actions of God.
- God revealing something you cannot know naturally.
Word of Wisdom
- Supernatural perspective and divine leading to accomplish Gods will in a certain situation.
- Being led by the Holy Spirit in how to act, and what to do in specific circumstances.
- Divine direction.
- Knowledge applied correctly.
Now that we have acknowledged key points in each gift.
We can see that the gift of the word of knowledge is divine understanding that we receive about a situation that’s typically in alignment with our season and can only be revealed by the Holy Spirit.
In this case the Holy Spirit will reveal either a person, object or place.
Typically the Holy Spirit will reveal it as something he wants us to work on through prayer and divine direction.
That is when the gift of wisdom comes in.
After a word knowledge God will than gives us a blueprint/directions on how we should handle the circumstance and what specific steps to take next.
The word of wisdom is different from human wisdom.
Let me give you an example of how this is represented in the bible.
Acts 10:10-16 10 and he was hungry. But while a meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11 He saw the sky open, and something like a large sheet was let down by its four corners. 12 In the sheet were all sorts of animals, reptiles, and birds. 13 Then a voice said to him, “Get up, Peter; kill and eat them.” 14 “No, Lord,” Peter declared. “I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure and unclean.” 15 But the voice spoke again: “Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean.” 16 The same vision was repeated three times. Then the sheet was suddenly pulled up to heaven. In this scripture we see word of knowledge in verse 15 “Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean” Here we see that god is revealing something that is secret in his heart.
Acts 10:19-20 19 Meanwhile, as Peter was puzzling over the vision, the Holy Spirit said to him, “Three men have come looking for you. 20 Get up, go downstairs, and go with them without hesitation. Don’t worry, for I have sent them.” In this scripture we see the word of Wisdom “Get up, go downstairs, and go with them without hesitation. Don’t worry, for I have sent them.” We see the Holy Spirit give a specific divine direction of what to do in the circumstance.
What do we do when we receive the gifts?
When we receive word of knowledge we must believe it and then we ask for wisdom.
So now what do we do once we have the wisdom?
We do the same thing, we believe it and we DO IT!
It’s important that we act on it and don’t ponder on it.
Word of Wisdom will always come with very clear direction, no confusion.
Therefore we want to make sure we act as it has been directed by the Holy Spirit.
This is so that we can receive exactly what God intends for us to receive.
Conclusion
Okay, I don’t know about you, but learning about these gifts truly blessed me.
It shows us that God wants to help us in ALL the areas of our lives.
He is so strategic with how he leads us. Isn’t he just so amazing?
Most importantly this shows us the power of prayer.
I encourage you to pray for these gifts.
And remember that when asking for these gifts we should want them to help the body of Christ.
I truly pray this blog will bless you.
Never forget that God loves you.
XOXO
