Unforgiveness can be like a seed planted in your heart, growing deep roots, overtaking you; In this blog we are goin to dive into the Power of Forgiveness!
Pain is something we are never truly ready for. In life we will face betrayals, broken hearts. People will hurt us without a valid reason.
That pain of what was done can become a seed of bitterness, gripping tightly to our hearts.
Unforgiveness is like a prowling lion tearing apart it’s pray. Bitterness is like a hurricane destroying everything in sight.
We all have experienced something that has really hurt us. Sometimes we feel it is unfair. It feels like an act that should be forbidden.
Those very things can feel so hard to let go of. It has really affected you, it broke you. It left you confused, and consumed by the pain.
That very bitterness and pain can become unforgiveness.
Not forgiving is a killer of our joy. Many of us will hold on to that experience for years; decades. While the evidence of the pain may not be reflecting on the outside. It is eating away at your soul.
Gods Plan through the power of Forgiveness
Holding on to past betrayals and traumas will only keep you in bondage. It will keep you from truly living in peace and in the true calling God has for you.
As Gods children we are called to portray his image. God wants to purify us not keep us in bondage.
Forgiving is not about what the ones who hurt you did and wether they choose to apologize for their wrong doings. Rather it is about the healing God wants to give you through the power of forgiveness and mercy.
Truly God wants us to change the posture of our hearts. Therefore if God has been merciful with us when we least deserved it, when we lived in sin, shouldn’t we give that same mercy to others.
Believe that God understand that it isn’t easy. He knows exactly what was done to you.
Our God is so merciful and loving that he promises to redeem all that was stolen.
But redemption is only something we can experience when we embody holiness. Like Jesus we may be humiliated, definitely humbled. That can be difficult because to our human flesh we feel we have endured enough.
As difficult as it is to see at first, that humility will bring healing.
Not only will it teach you to forgive others for their wrong doings, but most importantly to not let the choices and actions of others affect who you are in Christ.
The Victory is already yours
Suffering may be for a little while, but your endurance, persistence and forgiveness will reap a bountiful harvest.
The Bible says that our fights are not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. — Ephesians 6:12
Now in order to forgive you must also understand who your real enemy is, it is the key to breaking that bondage.
The enemy has a plan to destroy us, and he sure plans to this with anything and anyone he can use around us.
This means that those around us the enemy will deceive to cause them to rise against us.
Knowing that, I tell you forgive them for they know not what they do.
Forgiving is not easy and you can’t do it alone. Give your burdens to God daily, pray without ceasing and God will help you, because there is power in forgiveness.
Remember …
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
